How to deal with Homesickness


From experience I know that homesickness is just awful. I remember all these tearful Skype sessions with my mom and I also remember how it was being back in the United States for my extension year after a two week vacation back home in Austria. I remember waking up in New York and the minute I opened my eyes I started crying. I didn’t wanna be in New York, I wanted to be back home. Au pairing on Social Media – #happycultureaupair

I want to ask you a question: What do you see, when you look at pictures and videos of current au pairs?
I see a lot of travel pictures, pictures of delicious looking food and cute little selfies of happy people. Most of these posts look just awesome. The au pairs get to travel, eat all this delicious food and they look happy as can be, am I right? A few pictures even have very ‘deep and thoughtful’ quotes added.
